Asbestos Awareness

This Asbestos Awareness training aims to assist employers in fulfilling their legal duty of care under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. It provides essential training for all employees who are, or may be, exposed to asbestos during their work. The training ensures that employees understand the health impacts.
Key Aspects of Asbestos Awareness Training
- Who Needs It: Anyone who works on buildings built or refurbished before 2000, including tradespeople, site supervisors, and demolition workers, to comply with health and safety regulations.
- What is Covered: The properties of asbestos, its health effects, where it is likely to be found, how to avoid disturbing it, and emergency procedures if it is discovered
- Training Scope: It provides crucial knowledge to avoid disturbing ACMs but does not train individuals to work with or remove them.
- Certification & Duration: Courses, M D Services certificate typically last ½ day and require annual refresher training to maintain compliance.

- Identification: Recognising different types of asbestos and ACMs.
- Risks: Understanding the fatal dangers of breathing in asbestos fibres.
- Procedures: Knowing the legal, safe working procedures and emergency, actions for accidental exposure.
