The Abrasive Wheels training is designed to support the safety of individuals working with rotary grinding and cutting equipment.  The standard for this training was developed in collaboration with employers and stakeholders from across the energy and utility sector.

This Asbestos Awareness training aims to assist employers in fulfilling their legal duty of care under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. It provides essential training for all employees who are, or may be, exposed to asbestos during their work. The training ensures that employees understand the health impacts.

M D Services COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Awareness training is designed to provide employees with the fundamental knowledge to work safely around harmful materials. It typically covers the legal requirements for both employers and staff, how to identify hazardous substances, and the methods used to control exposure.

2 Day Training Course Classroom Based

The M D Services EUSR Certified Drain Surveyors' course (CDS) is a two-day intensive training programme either online or classroom designed for CCTV operatives, local authorities, housing associations, surveyors and facility management companies covering domestic drain investigations The course has been designed in conjunction with  Water Research Commission (WRC) and is fully compliant with the Domestic Drain Code section of the Manual of Sewer Condition Classification 5th Edition (MSCC5).

Drainage Inspection and Assessment Theory (Scotland) – Drain Training for the Drainage Industry40 Hours – eLearning

1 Day Course can be conducted Classroom Based or online

M D Services Drain 1 x day excavation and repair awareness training covers essential safety regulations, risk assessment, and technical methods for repairing underground drainage systems. Key topics include trench collapse prevention, identifying underground utilities (HSG47), safe excavation techniques, CCTV inspection (MSCC5), and structural repair methods like pipelining or patch repairs.

½ Day Course can be conducted Classroom Based or online

National Water Hygiene (NWH) training which is also known as a ‘Blue Card’ plays a vital part in ensuring the protection of public health and promoting good water hygiene practices. The scheme has been developed in collaboration with all UK water companies. UK water companies require individuals to be trained to this standard.

1 Day Course Classroom Based with a practical element

M D Services Spill response awareness training is designed to equip employees with the knowledge to safely handle, contain, and report hazardous leaks in the workplace. These courses are essential for ensuring compliance with safety legislation such as COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) and maintaining ISO 14001 environmental standards. 

The EUSR (MDS) 1 x day approved training awareness classroom course, the delegates will have the opportunity to be involved in Scenario based learning, where they are assessed on how to contain substances (for practice purposes it’s a non-hazardous substance of water and drain dye and neutralising it).

M D Services 1/2 x day manual handling awareness training is a basic health and safety course designed to teach you how to transport or support loads safely using hand or bodily force. It aims to prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)—like back pain and joint strain—which account for about one-third of all workplace injuries.

2 Day Training - First Day Online, second day Classroom Based

Medium-risk confined space training is designed for individuals who enter or supervise work in environments where there is a realistic expectation of a specified risk (such as toxic gas or limited oxygen) but where entry can still be managed with standard safety procedures. These spaces typically include sewers, tunnels, or vaults with restricted access but no immediate need for full breathing apparatus.

M D Services Vacuum tanker awareness and operation course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely handle vacuum tankers, gully suckers, and jetting equipment. The course is designed for both novice and experienced operators working in drainage, utilities, and highway maintenance. 

This one day (minimum 6hrs) is aimed at:

People who operate Pressure Washer Equipment, people who manage and design cleaningtasks using Pressure Washing Equipment   The Pressure Washer card/ certificate is valid for a period of 3 years before it needs to be renewed. 

This course provides knowledge and assists in the understanding of Pressure Washing by means of assessments in: 

• Theory

• Operational skills

• Understanding and knowledge

• Safe use of equipment   

Assessments are a balance of theory in a classroom environment and practical using live water jetting equipment.

Course pressure: up to 275 bar (4000 psi) flow rate to 22 lpm.

The training does NOT cover works that involves confined space entry into chambers, tanks, wet wells, or vessels.

 

Course options:

Two days training:

  • Day 1, Safety Awareness
  • Day 2, practical modules of: Drains & Sewers (DS) or Drains, Sewers & Gun (DSG)

One day training:

  • Pressure washing course
  • Jetting renewals (if they already hold a valid two day ticket, a one day renewal can be conducted, choosing either  DS or DSG as their practical element)

 

If you have a current WJA qualification from completing the two-day Jetting course and your coming up for your renewal, this could be the perfect course for you. 

Candidates have 3 months before / 3 months after expiry date to refresh cards, however the course must be booked prior to the renewal date.

Day 1 - Jetting Renewals 

  • Operational Personnel are required to refresh their card on the highest ranking module they hold on thier card to renew their safety awareness for a further 3 years. 
  • Non-operational personnel will sit the full safety awareness course to refresh their card for a further 3 years
